FOLLOW THIS TIPS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN GOSPEL MUSIC MINISTRY

Been successful in Gospel singing ministry is not a day job. It needs the grace of God to keep you moving. And you also have to be spiritually connected with God.

Many people that have the talent/gift to sing use it elsewhere; some use it in the secular world promoting sin (Drugs, sex, etc).

Many of the popular secular Artistes today start it from the church; either from church choir or other singing groups in the church. But they taught doing it for the lord will not give them the firm or popularity they want, forgetting that their reward will be coming in the last day.

Gospel artistes are people that preach the word of God through songs to masses. Gospel songs (Music) are aimed at preaching the good news to people through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. While secular songs are just for entertainment, firm, to make money and promote drug, sex etc.

Becoming a successful gospel minister/artiste comes with a lot of challenges and temptations, because you’re preaching the word of God. Even Jesus Christ face temptations in his ministry on earth so definitely a gospel minister must face the same.

Below I highlighted a few things that will make you to be successful in Gospel music ministry:

• ·         PRAYER: prayer is the key to any thing we are doing on earth because it is through prayer we get connected to God. Through prayers your talents will also be flavored. You will have many inspirations from God through prayers. Prayers can keep you moving in the right directions with God. Apostle Paul encourage the Ephesians to pray when he instruct them to wear the whole armor of God, at the end he said “Pray in the spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” (Eph.6:18, NLT). Prayer is very important in every Christian life. Prayers can help you overcome many temptations coming your way. Gospel Ministers should imitate Christ through prayers.
• ·         FASTING: Prayer and fasting go hand to hand. Fasting brings you more closely to God. Jesus said in Matthew 17:21, “But only prayer and fasting can drive this kind out, nothing else can” (Good news Bible). (Check the foot notes of your Bible in case you did not see this verse included after verse 20). So prayer and fasting go together. Always fast so that God can reveal his will for you in the ministry you are into. Don’t go on food strike thinking you’re on fasting. I have seen many people do many a times, fasting all day without prayers. I called that food strike not fasting. When you’re on fasting, you have to discipline yourself, if possible spend the whole day indoor, in a quiet place reading your Bible, singing praise and worship and also praying to God. But if can’t be opportune to do that due to your nature of work or day to day activity, make sure you manage the small opportunity you get in the Morning, afternoon and also evening. Table your request to God and am sure you will hearkened to your prayers.
• ·         READ THE WORD (BIBLE): so many gospel ministers got much inspiration from the word (bible). There are many words in the bible that can inspire you and your music. Reading the word help you know your God and also know his word. Reading the bible is also a pre-requisite for your success in music ministry. God gave Joshua this instruction “study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” (Joshua 1:8, NLT). Reading the word comes with a lot of benefits:

  It will help you obey God.

  It will help you prosper in life (especially in your music ministry).

You will succeed in everything you do.

You will get inspiration from the word.

Finally you should associate yourself with God fearing men and those that are successful in the music industry so that you can learn from their experience.

The above are per-requisite to your success in music ministry. The above per-requisite does not only apply to music ministers only but to every Christian. If you want to be successful in life follow the above per-requisite and you will not regret doing it. You will be successful in life and at the end you will have eternal life.

Live for God not man.
